Step 2: LRHS will call to set up an Orientation Appointment.
Step 3: Come on in; whether your preference is dog walking, cat cuddling, office work or getting down and dirty to help clean, we will be sure to find a job for you!
Must be at least 16 years-old to volunteer without parent/guardian supervision. 14-15 year-olds may volunteer if a parent/guardian is present and supervising them. Unfortunately, we cannot accept volunteers under the age of 14.

Become a Certified Dog Walker!
Step 1: Complete a Volunteer Application.
Step 2: Take the Free Dog Walking Orientation.
Step 3: Complete 15 hours of general dog care.
Step 4: Complete 5 staff chaperoned dog walks.
Step 5: Congratulations, you’ve made it! You may walk shelter dogs on your own.
Participants will learn how to read dog body language, properly adjust collars and harnesses, safely remove a dog from a kennel, react in dog related emergencies and more!
