A brief history of LRHS: For nearly 30 years LRHS welcomed pets with nowhere else to turn and provided them with medical care, shelter, enrichment and nourishment until suitable new homes can be found. Our team of expert animal care technicians assist adopters in finding compatible pets and guide folks through the growing pains of pet ownership. LRHS is a source of free pet food and supplies for owners who need extra help, including local Meals on Wheels participants. Thanks to a partnership with Chris’ Hero Pups, LRHS facilitates the adoption of cats and dogs to active or retired military personnel free of charge!
