The Lakes Region Humane Society is looking for a special person (or persons) to join our family of animal care givers.
We are seeking EITHER 2 part-time folks (1 to work with cats Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays and 1 to work with dogs Saturdays and Sundays) OR one full-time person to care for both cats and dogs.
Applicants should have excellent communication skills as they will be answering phones, coordinating adoptions, sharing animal behavioral and medical observations, and working to process adoption applications regularly.
Main duties include but are not limited to animal care and handling. This entails feeding, cleaning up after, and socializing/exercising pets.
We are comprised of a small group of individuals dedicated to providing the best possible stay and advocacy for displaced pets until they can be matched with compatible new homes.
We are all required to “wear many hats”. It is important for each of us to be flexible, organized, and efficient as well as caring. Reliability and punctuality are musts – the pets will be counting on you. Candidates should expect to work weekends and some holidays.
Animal sheltering requires integrity, kindness, outstanding work ethic, a love of animals, patience and compassion towards people. If you are comprised of these values – we look forward to meeting you!
