LRHS Offers Year Round Dog Training
LRHS periodically conducts an array of group training classes such as: Basic manners, Introduction to Agility, Nose Work and The American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen program that encourages responsible pet ownership and good manners for dogs.
In addition to offering group classes, our CPDT-KA certified trainer, Louise Daigle, is happy to provide private consultations with clients and their dogs upon request.
On Thursday nights from June 8th – July 6th we will be running the following classes:
4 pm – 5 pm Beyond The Backyard – 5 week program.
Teach your dog to listen anytime, anywhere. This class is for dogs with some previous training. Dogs should be able to sit, stay, come, and pay attention when on leash before taking this class. We will build on these skills and work to make them more reliable. By working outside with controlled distractions we will teach your dog to pay attention and listen reliably beyond your own backyard. Class designed by Denise Fenzi.
5:15 pm – 6:15 pm K9 Nose Work – 5 week program.
K9 Nose Work is a dog sport that utilizes a dogs natural searching and hunting abilities. Inspired by working detection dogs, this fun sport teaches your dog to hunt for their favorite treat or toy among boxes. Target odors are then introduced. As each dog progresses, more boxes are added. The search becomes more challenging when we take it outside, add different containers, expand to whole rooms, and even search vehicles! The structure of this class is such that each dog works independently making it a great option for the shy, nervous, newly adopted, or reactive dog.
